UK Charts: Tomb Raider Hangs To Top Spot, GoW: Ascension Enters in Second
God of War: Ascension Sales Half That of GoW3
The rebooted Tomb Raider series enjoyed another great week as the latest entry in the series claimed the number one slot in the UK for the second week running. Seven days ago, the game entered the chart straight at number one, posting biggest first-week sales in 2013.
There were three new entries in the Top 10 this week, with the PlayStation 3 exclusive God of War: Ascension taking second place. Although taking the silver medal may seem rather pleasing, the worrying the news for Sony will be Ascension only sold half of what God of War 3 did in it’s opening week back in 2010.
StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm was the another new entry in third, although the PC exclusive would most likely have been higher if Chart Track counted digital sales. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 entered the chart in fourth, it’s predecessor never charted higher than eighth.
The usual suspects of FIFA 13, Far Cry 3, and Black Ops II made up the rest. Check out the Top 10 for the week ending March 16th below:
1. Tomb Raider (-72%)
2. God Of War Ascension
3. StarCraft II: Heart Of The Swarm
4. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2
5. SimCity (-50%)
