Persona 4 Arena Update In The Works
The Midnight Channel Broadcasts Again
In a piece of news that came seemingly out of nowhere, location tests have begun in Japan for an update to Persona 4 Arena, a recent Famitsu article confirms. The update will feature two new characters: Yukari Takeba and Junpei Iori from Persona 3. The game’s menus have also undergone a major overhaul. As such, this may well be a follow-up in the same vein as what Blazblue: Continuum Shift was to Calamity Trigger.
No other updates have been revealed as of yet, though it’s likely we’ll see balance changes, some new arenas, and updates to the game’s story due to Yukari and Junpei’s inclusion. Judging by the screenshots of the character select screen, it’s also entirely possible some more characters may fill those gaps next to Naoto and Kanji; maybe Koromaru and Shinjiro can get in on the action?
As this news came entirely out of leftfield, just how big of an update this will be is anyone’s guess. Maybe it’ll segue into Persona 5? We can always dream…
