New Killzone: Mercenary Trailer Lights Up The PS Vita
Fully Portable Shooter
Killzone: Mercenary is blasting its way onto the PlayStation Vita on September 18th, the EU PlayStation blog has announced. And it looks absolutely glorious.
The game is being developed by Guerilla Cambridge and has been built specifically to take advantage of the PlayStation Vita hardware. Remarkably, the game is powered by the Killzone 3 engine.
The game is set just after the ending of the original Killzone, and revisits many of the events from the Killzone triology.
You play as Arran Danner, a former UCA-solider and killer for hire. He has no preference when it comes to employers, if the money’s right, it doesn’t matter whether the contract’s from the ISA or even the Helghast.
With nine single-player missions — each promised to be nearly an hour in length— a fully-fledged multiplayer mode, additional replay challenges and trophy support, Killzone: Mercenary could be the PS Vita’s definitive shooter.
Let’s just hope it’s better than Killzone 3.
