Halo 4 Multiplayer Requires Xbox 360 Hard Drive or 8GB USB Flash Drive

Master Grief

To the dismay of Xbox 360 arcade and core model owners, Microsoft has confirmed that to provide an “optimal experience” for Halo 4′s multiplayer component, the game will require the use of a hard drive or a 8GB/16GB USB flash drive.

On xbox.com, under the clever heading of, “Optimizing your Multiplayer and Campaign Experience in Halo 4″, Microsoft states:

“At a minimum, you’ll need at least an 8GB USB Flash Drive or an Xbox 360 Hard Drive to play Multiplayer mode in Halo 4. For an optimal experience playing with an Xbox 360 Hard Drive is highly recommended. For Xbox 360 4GB, Arcade and Core consoles, the Xbox 360 Hard Drive is sold separately.”

Admittedly, for the majority of Xbox 360 owners, such a predicament will probably be a non-issue. But let’s spare a thought for the arcade and core model owners who will have to shell out extra cash if their to “optimise” their Halo 4 experience.
