Average UK Gamer Is 35 And Earns 23K, Study Claims
Most Own Two Consoles And 18 Games
The average British gamer is 35-years-old, earns £23,000 a year and games for two and a half hours a day.
The research data also reveals that the average gamer is married, plays games five days a week and will stay up to 10.58pm doing so. Both male and female gamers spend as long as each other gaming.
Gamers also own two different consoles on average, along with 18 games and take around a month to complete each. Apparently the average gamer argues with their partner twice a week over gaming. More than one in twenty say gaming is the constant cause of arguments, while 15% have broken up with someone because of their love of gaming.
The study also found that the average gamer has made at least five online friends, with 29% saying they have met at least one of them face-to-face.
A third of the people surveyed say they play local mutiplayer, while a quarter play online and a fifth regularly play with the online friends they met in the gaming community. Around 44% will be buying either a PlayStation 4, Xbox One or a new gaming PC in the next twelve months.
